​The mission of the Oregon Community Asylum Network (OCAN) is to assist and advocate for people seeking safe haven in the United States through grassroots organizing, education, and sponsorship. Our goal is to develop a safe and secure landing where asylum seekers can begin growing roots. We welcome new arrivals by providing assistance with housing, employment, healthcare, food and nutrition, transportation, clothing, education and legal services.

 H.E.L.P.  is a program for families enrolled in Head Start who are entering or struggling with unstable housing situations. They submit an application for small grants up to $1000 to help off-set deficits in their funds to pay incidentals that are threatening to evict or unhouse them, be it a utility bill, portions of rent, etc. 

SLLEA serves neurodiverse adults working with them to achieve and maintain meaningful independence and self-sufficiency in their lives.

Our comprehensive, strength-based program encompasses autism-specific direct support, and neuroaffirming social skills curriculum emphasizing empowerment and self-advocacy.

SLLEA’s curriculum and supports are coupled with self-management technology and are carefully designed to foster sustained personal growth and self-confidence across three pivotal adult transition areas: (1) Independent living, (2) Higher education, and (3) Career exploration and meaningful employment.

The Home Starter Kit Program (HSK) is an all-volunteer ministry of the Church of the Resurrection which partners with other local churches and social service agencies. The program provides basic kitchen, bedroom and bathroom goods to individuals and families who are moving out of treatment, homeless, abusive, mental health and prison situations into permanent housing. The kits provide people with a sense of normalcy and respect after their recipients have experienced traumatic experiences and setbacks. At the same time, ministry volunteers are also strengthened by developing deeper connections with others in need.  The kits are presented with no religious expectations whatsoever.

The Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) of Lane County is a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that those who are emotionally traumatized in emergency situations receive the immediate assistance they need. TIP is comprised of a group of specially trained and screened volunteers available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Proudly serving Lane County, TIP Volunteers are called by law enforcement, fire and hospital personnel to assist victims, families, friends, witnesses and bystanders by providing emotional support and practical resources.
 

T.I.P. received an additional $5,000 thanks to the generosity of the Robert Schultz Foundation for a grand total of $16,145.

Based in the green heart of Eugene-Springfield – Alton Baker Park — Nearby Nature believes people of all ages, backgrounds, and communities thrive when they connect with nature nearby.

Our mission is to assist Lane County, OR non-profits that serve unhoused persons of Lane County by providing them with premade hygiene kits to provide for their clients. We believe that each person deserves the opportunity to feel, and be, clean and hygienic.

The Richard Schulze Foundation accepted the grant request for Friends of the Children.  The nonprofit received an additional $5,000 for a grand total of $15,000!

Friends of the Children–Lane County Oregon is part of a national network of Friends of the Children chapters across the United States. Friends of the Children connects children – all of whom have unique talents – to a paid, professional mentor called a Friend. We hire and train Friends whose full-time jobs are to support our youth to succeed, despite the extremely challenging situations most experience, from as early as age 4 through high school graduation – 12+ years, no matter what.
